FAQ
What to wear?
Formal. Here are a few helpful articles, and here are a few rules of thumb:
- Men should wear suits and ties (no tuxes though)
- Women should wear dresses that hit below the knee
- The venue is indoor/outdoor, so be aware if you're planning to wear stilettos.
Spain in late May's weather is typically in the 60s and 70s with lots of sunshine! The temperature drops a bit in the evening when the sun goes down, so grab a wrap or a light jacket.
Do I need a visa? (US Citizens)
Yes if you're traveling to the UK. If you're traveling in the UK before coming to Spain, you need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). The ETA is £10 and you'll need one for everyone travelling - Babies and children included. You can apply for an ETA before your trip, and it's valid for up to 2 years (so feel free to apply early).
If you're only laying over in the UK, not passing through border control (Staying inside the airport), AND do not have an ETA, you will need a Direct Airside Transit Visa. This visa is £35 and you can apply here.
The bottom line: If you're going through or to the UK, it makes sense to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization. The ETA covers the Direct Airside Transit Visa and is cheaper than the transit only option.
Can we bring children to the wedding?
Due to our venue location and wedding schedule, we are unable to accomodate young children during our wedding or reception. We'd love to see your little ones at the before-and-after events and recognize that a trip to Barcelona is an opportunity for a family vacation.
We are happy to help you plan suitable accomodations, including babysitters, advice on other aspects of your travel, etc.
