Booking Travel (11/16/24)

Hello dearest guests!

Adrienne and I are so excited and grateful for you to join us in celebrating our wedding in May. We can't wait to share this special part of our lives with you. It means a lot to us for you to come so far to party with us. Let's create some fun memories together in Barcelona 💃🕺 🥰

Speaking of - folks have been asking about travel arrangements so we'd like to provide some recommendations and tips.

Passports

Passports must not expire within 3 months after your departure date from Spain at a minimum and 6 months after your departure date from Spain (recommended). If your passport is expiring on/before September 2025, you need to get a move on. Expedited services are available for ~$200 and still take 2-3 weeks.

Timing

Generally, international travel is best booked about 4-6 months before departure or December-February. If you're trying to get a deal, put a price alert on and be patient. Prices will likely drop by then and there should still be enough availability to have good options.

Airlines

  • Iberia: This is the standard no-frills-I-just-wanna-go-to-Spain option. Think Southwest.
  • LEVEL: An operating partner of Iberia, but even more budget. Their customer service isn't great if things go wrong (flights cancel/delay etc), so steer clear of them if you can help it.
  • American/BA/Delta: Usually a bit pricier but with more amenities.

Hotels

We have three hotel recommendations.

You don't have to stay at these locations, but we do recommend staying within Eixample.

Heads Up: F1 Race

There is an F1 race in Barcelona the weekend following the wedding (May 30 - June 1) which will put a strain on flights and accommodations at that time. If you're into F1 and want to go to the race, great! If not, we'd recommend planning extra time in Barcelona before the wedding.

Stopovers

While Barcelona could keep us entertained forever, there are lots of great trips to spend more time in the area if you're looking to add another destination to your trip. Perhaps you want to escape the F1 crowds and spend the weekend fishing in the Pyrenees, or you'd love to fit in some snorkeling in Mallorca, or find the best Basque cheesecake in San Sebastian. Adrienne and I have spent a lot of time traveling throughout Spain and are happy to give some recommendations.

Cars

Stopovers Cars There's no need to rent a car while in Barcelona. It's a very walkable city with a great subway system. We will provide transportation to and from the wedding venue which is in the mountains outside of the city.

Cheers!
